Research area Sustainable Economy - Ethics and Transformation

The research area was established at the Department of Accounting and Reporting in 2012. Following on from the informal research group Companies & Society, it deals with issues relating to the social embedding and responsibility of companies.

The main areas of research are

  • Growth-neutral companies
  • Regional resilience
  • Alternatives to economic value calculation (GDP)
  • Political framework conditions for corporate responsibility and corporate sustainability
  • Organizational culture and socio-moral climate
  • Sustainable lifestyles and ethical consumption
  • Responsible management as a subject of management consulting

The work of the department is closely linked to the teaching activities within the SBWL Business Ethics and Corporate Responsibility Management at the Departement.

In addition to research and teaching, business and corporate ethics topics are also presented in publications and lectures for a specialist audience and the general public (schools, NGOs, professionals...) - see the individual entries by Prof. Dr. Bernhard Ungericht (head) & Dr. Dirk Raith (staff).
